sorry i haven't posted much lately! tbh i've been feeling kind of burnt out and massively unmotivated with palia. don't get me wrong, i still really love the game (especially the characters and the worldbuilding) and i have tried to log in and play but tbh the game itself just isn't keeping my attention rn.

i don't blame the devs at all since i know they're going Through It rn what with the massive layoffs, california fires, and losing money. that being said, the little story progression, constant game breaking bugs every update, and Way too high prices for things,,, it got to me. it sucks because i do really love this game and i Want to devote more time to it but i've lost the motivation to do that.

i'm hoping that i'll gain at least some of it back with the elderwoods update but i also can't help but feel some trepidation at the thought of the release getting pushed back and what kind of bugs will inevitably come with it.

anyway, ik i don't have to explain myself or anything, but i just wanted to let you guys know i guess? i Do still love the game and i anticipate future updates (and hopefully getting sucked back into it) but for now, i'm not devoting a lot of time to it. i'm thinking of doing some art for the characters just so i don't lose interest completely but the game itself is taking a massive backseat :/

Co-op combat game play…in r1999…each player has two characters they can control…could be cool for like a special Mane’s Bulletin/UTTU feature…or event stage hard mode…ough

currently reading: I’m about 100 pages into Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr (a book title I have to keep looking up because I keep mixing up the order of those three words).

last film: I watched 3/4 of Saltburn and then switched to When Harry Met Sally. Still haven’t finished Saltburn.

currently watching: I’m a few episodes into Mrs. Davis after finishing The Leftovers for the first time (and that was right on the tail of Station Eleven so it’s been a good, weird TV start to the year). I also started a rewatch of Jury Duty with my parents tonight because I know they’re going to get a kick out of the final episode.

currently craving: Nothing really but now I’m thinking about what I want to get for breakfast. Mmmmm, breakfast…

three ships: Ted/Rebecca, Luke/Lorelai, Nick/Jess (I’ve only ever read fanfic for one of these ships).

first ship: For fic reading and fandom? Lily/James. In general with other media? Too many animated couples to count. Anastasia/Demetri, the leads from Ferngully, Aurora/Prince Philip, Robin Hood/Maid Marianne, etc etc

currently working on: I just finished crocheting a very small square blanket (I just wanted to see if I could do a fun looking crochet stitch and then finished the two skein I had on hand so it’s small and idk what it’s for but I like it). I have another project on the docket that I hope is relatively easy🤞 Technically still working on my Ted dating fic but I took a two week writing break to do some other creative things and I’m really happy with that decision 🥰

Status Update:

Jonah - Asleep. Recovering decently well. Discussed the issue with Adam, who has agreed to avoid the actions that would lead to a repeat of today’s situation.

Adam - Asleep. Protecting Jonah. Feeling guilty for discussing source trauma + certain topics without explicit permission from Jonah.

Evelin - Resting. Less agitated with Adam, but still wary of him.

Sarah - Asleep. Borderline inaccessible, to me at least.

Ces - Resting. Surveying surroundings. Protecting and cuddling Mark.

Mark - Resting, but aware. Relieved the main stress of the day is over.

Lemon Bar - Relaxing nearby. Acting as my Overseer and as Quality Control. Ensuring comprehensibility of this post.

gonna answer this about yesterday (bc today I'm freshly woken up)

bitching point: so. I work in IT. my actual job description is testing and being a help desk for NEW systems being implemented. pay attention to that "new".... because one else at my company does! they think I'm google! "hey so X program closed on me without saving how can I recover what I was working on?" "I need new lines on this excel table can you come over and insert some" (I wish I was joking) "ummmm outlook isn't showing me my calendar" (this one happens once a week. to the same person). I feel like goddamned sisyphus.

one nice thing: I TOOK MOM TO THE THEATER LAST NIGHT FOR HER BIRTHDAY. There was a production of Cyrano and it. was. bloody FANTASTIC. mom fell asleep in the intermission and I bullied her for it ("claims to love theater" etc) after I woke her up and the second bit resumed. afterwards we went out for beer and ummmm what do you call them in English? calamari rings, fried. it was a GOOD night

I just wanna make a little post as a kinda follow up abt my survey! So wild that I was part of inspiration the community ran community survey for dndads (you can find the results for that one here if you haven’t checked it out yet!) they have way more accurate info for the community (they’re sample size was well over 10x mine) and it’s way more organized. And it’s so cool that my survey was inspo :)

Now onto the topic of my survey! So my survey is definitely more geared towards the side of the community that is much more fandom related! I kinda always intended it that way whether I realized it or not. I only really posted it on tumblr and select discord servers (idk if of ppl posted it elsewhere [which I’m fine with and if anything encourage!]) Im currently now at 191 responses however there has not been any major changes I can so probably won’t update my data for a bit. I don’t think I’m ever gonna like properly close my survey unless I fall out of the fandom cause I kinda just want it to be like “a living thing” that represents the fandom (btw I’m pretty sure you can edit your response on mine if your opinions or shit have changed) and it’ll probably stay my pinned post unless I start doing commissions. So yeah! Check the community survey if you haven’t and check out mine if you haven’t either :)

yayy writing my extra credit paper on mussels and fish how they carry mussel eggs perhaps eels specifically if I can find spec sources w them but probs just like. Insert other river fish idk. Did you all know that many species of north American freshwater mussels have a lure that is made to look like a tiny fish and then when a big fish goes to eat it the female mussels shoot out their fertilized eggs at the fish and the fish breath it in and it all gets caught in inta gills and then the fish moves around the stream and then the larvae fall out and then settle into the stream bed 👍👍 sooo sexy to me

Holiday request: child support

John is in a meeting with the Justice League when Clockwork comes knocking. It's a regular update on security and safety procedures, the kind of boring stuff John would have customarily skipped out on, except that this meeting also covers how to provide younger teams support.

Teams that his son was a part of. If Danny was ever on a mission, that could have ended in him passing simply because some wanker didn't know how to find him or how to help him in time?

So here was John, half slumped over his chair as Batman droned about procedures and policies. He had barely gotten through Wonder Woman's long lecture on support combat.

He was thinking of grabbing a coffee- John's been working on his drinking after making a promise to try and get sober for his son- so he was replacing the urge for alcohol with coffee. It was one of the hardest things he's ever done.

Thankfully, he knows some spells that help with withdrawals. It's better than the alternative, even if some days are shitter than others.

"Hello, Johnny," Coos, the Ancient being of Time, flouting before him in his human form. John can feel every hero's jaw drop even as he smiles awkwardly at the other parent of his child.

"Clockwork." He greets, eyes taking in the gorgeous features of Time. He nods his head towards the bag, flouting by Clockwork. "Lovely to see you as always. Got a gift for me?"

"Hmm." Clockwork flouts down, landing on his feet and surveying the room. His pure red eyes sparkled in amusement as the awestruck members of the Justice League. Even Batman seemed momently thrown- though if that was because of Clockwork's beauty or the insane amount of power pushing down on all their souls was anyone's guess.

"I've come to spend a weekend with my son. And you, I suppose, if you do not mind housing me." Clockwork says, at last, patting the bag. John feels his mouth go dry. Yes, he slept with Acient before and wouldn't be opposed to another round, but Clockwork wasn't his average ex.

Clockwork held the entire multiverse at the tip of his fingers, suspended on his amusement, and it could all be destroyed with a mere snap from the other. If he found disproved of even the slightest thing about how John was raising Danny, he could kill billions of people, or worse, he could take Danny away.

John feels cold dread grip his heart even as he laughs. "Of course, I can house you. I hope you won't find being in the human world too much hassle."

"Oh no. I have the perfect disguise to blend in with the humans." Clockwork assures, pulling out a pair of fetching glasses and a white cane. He places them on his head and taps his stick on the ground before grinning. John finds himself instantly spotting the same cocky curve to Danny's own grin, and his heart swells.

"Now, where is my boy? It's been years since I last saw him." Clockwork pauses before shrugging his head. "Or it's only been nine months in this realm. Still a long time for my son."

The Ancient snaps his fingers, ripping a portal open to the front of Danny's school. He offers his arm to the blond man, nodding toward Gotham Academy. The soft ring of the dismissal bells rings as students start pouring out of the front door in drones. Classes for the day have just ended.

"Come along, Johnny. Guide me." John shoots the Leauge an apologetic smile, knowing they will understand how important this visit is. He loops his arm through Clockwork, while heaving the man's bag over his other shoulder. The soft tapping of Clockwork's cane on the ground is the portal's only sound before it slams closed.

It cuts off the explosion of noise the Leauge makes, but with all those overlapping voices, John has no idea who said what.

Danny walks out of the school with Damian, Jon, and Colin, laughing and beaming at the younger boys. Clockwork pauses for a few seconds before he beams.

"You're doing a great job, Johnny." The Ancient says just as Danny's gaze locks on them. His face fumbles with ripples of emotion before lighting up in glee. He races towards them with a gutted shout, "Father!"

Clockwork opens his arms just as Danny slams into him. John steps back, but the Ancient grabs the sleeve of his trench coat and drags him into the hug.

"A really great job." The non-human whispers into John's ear. He feels a soft caress against his magic as if Clockwork was brushing the hair out of his face. His heart flutters softly, even as Danny beams at them, and various teenagers panic at his boy's beauty.

Something tells John that having his ex visiting won't be as bad as he initially thought.
